By using Haven you agree to these terms and to the Community Standards. You must be 18 or older.
What this app is
Haven is an independent app for connecting to self-hosted Haven chat servers. The app’s developer does not run, host or moderate any server. Each server is operated by its own administrator, who is responsible for that server, its accounts and its content, and who may have their own terms you also agree to when you sign in there.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. You must also be allowed to use the server you connect to under its own rules.
Zero tolerance
You agree not to post, upload or share objectionable content, and not to harass or abuse anyone, as described in the Community Standards. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that breaks these terms can be removed, and the accounts that post it suspended or banned, by the server’s administrator.
Reports
Every report sent from the app is reviewed within 24 hours. Because the developer does not control any server, a report about content on a server is passed to that server’s administrator, who can remove the content and eject the user. Your account
Your account lives on the server you signed up with, not with the app’s developer. You can delete it at any time from Settings, Delete Account. Signing out removes the saved sign-in from this device.
No warranty
The app is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for content posted by others or for the operation of servers they do not run. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will ask you to agree again before you continue.
Community Standards
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior in Haven. Breaking these standards can get your content removed and your account suspended or banned.
Not allowed, anywhere
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form. It is reported to the authorities.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to harm themselves.
- Hate speech: attacking people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness.
- Sexually explicit or pornographic material, and intimate images shared without the consent of everyone in them.
- Graphic violence or gore, and content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
- Selling or promoting illegal goods or services.
- Sharing someone’s private information (doxxing), impersonation, scams and phishing.
- Spam, malware, and anything that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights.
What you can do
- Report: press and hold any message and choose Report Message. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours and passed to the administrator of the server it was posted on, who can remove the content and suspend or ban the account.
- Block: press and hold a message and choose Block. Their messages disappear on this device straight away. Undo it in Settings, Blocked People.
- Hide: a message you report is hidden on this device immediately.
- Filter: offensive words are masked by default, and pictures can be blurred until tapped. See Settings, Content Filter.
Servers have their own rules too
Each Haven server is run by its own administrator, who can add stricter rules and enforces them on that server. These standards apply on top of whatever a server allows.
